Academy 1/72 F4F-4 Wildcat on an HQ72 Resin base.
This little beauty(Wildcats are sexy) is my take on on Lt James E. Swett’s bird on Henderson Field in 1943. Academy only gives you a basic set of decals so I swiped a set from one of the two Airfix kits I have. I added the cowl flaps from spare sheet styrene and actually scratched together a cockpit that you can’t see. If you’re trying to decide on a 1/72 Wildcat definitely grab the Airfix kit, it is superior. Painted totally with Vallejo products…only because I bought them for this project before I realized the superiority of Tamiya paints.
The base is a resin product from SC based HQ72. It is a quality pour which I airbrushed with Tamiya Acrylics.
Plus some random other builds for your viewing pleasure.
A 3D printed flea market find. ‘A Free Elf‘. Airbrush painted with Tamiya except for the eyes which were brush painted with Vallejo.
