Thought I would toss my photos of a (kind of?) “dirty airliner” onto the pile of photos you might have seen already. It’s my most recent build, and is Eastern Express’s 1/144 747-SP in Braniff “Ultra” colors.

The SP is a funky jet that is very much a product of 70s airliner design, and this kit deserved an equally 70s color scheme with Braniff’s creamsicle-esque bold orange and cream/gold striping. I added some weathering, mainly around exhaust points, where oil and hydraulics would feasibly leak from, and, since my subject sat outside for a while, very light grime streaking around the doors and windows. Braniff 747SPs were relatively clean, but saw a solid few years of flying before being transferred. I almost exclusively build airliners these days, and even the brief mention of airliner finishes was nice to hear.

Airliners are a pretty niche subject, and it’s good to hear more mainstream discussion outside of the couple of dedicated facebook groups and AirlinerCafe website. Feel free to check out my online portfolio of my work, linked here: https://triscalecraft.myportfolio.com/
