I just completed a build that I wanted to share:
Eduard 1/48 Zlin Z-526AFS Akrobat (Weekend Edition)
I added a “Look” instrument panel, color PE seat harnesses, and Brassin wheels. Brake lines are from thin solder wire and I replaced the plastic exhaust pipes with brass tubing. Construction was straightforward, although there are some teeny parts that challenged my fat fingers.
Paints are Tamiya (white) and Mr. Color (blue) lacquers. The kit decals included the blue fuselage stripes and rudder checkerboard, but the color was way off from the paint, so those were masked and sprayed (LOVE my Silhouette cutter!). While I was at it, I went ahead and cut masks for the fuse and wing registration codes, so the only decals I used were the commercial logos on the wing, the fin markings, and the stencils.
All in all, it was a fun project of an unusual subject.
