P-8A Update

P-8A Update

As I’ve noted in the podcast, I’m still making progress albeit slow. This kit requires a lot of filling and sanding, even after taking great care to ensure fit and alignment.

I attached the vertical fin/rudder using brass tube in the fuselage, then applied some epoxy, then placed plastic rod into the tube. The fin then fit over all this and after mushing out some of the 5 minute epoxy I cleaned up the joint with 91% isopropyl alcohol.

Hmm, I wonder if I can finish this before the Privateer? Looks daunting but the horizontal tails and engines are ready to go on, as is the wing. I still have some cleaning up to do in the cockpit area as well as the under-fuselage wing section.

This is the Big Plane Kits, which I believe is the only injection kit of the P-8 in 1/72.
