For March Madness I chose the Airfix 1/48 Spitfire TR.9. The build appears straightforward and the detail is superb. I’ve made some progress, painting the cockpit and interior details.
I’m modeling the Spitfire I flew in, which is the sole TR.8 built, serial MT818. It will of course be painted in the scheme she wore that day. There are a couple of minor mods I will need to make, mainly rescribing and slightly modifying the tailwheel. The tailwheel is not retractable any longer and is fixed in the down position, the doors being riveted shut.
