Recently completed 1/48 Trumpeter HU-16C Albatross from PAX River. This aircraft is unique in that it carries both USNTPS and NATC markings on it.
The kit gave me trouble and I almost gave up a few times. I enhanced the interior by adding doors, window shade (rear port side head/lav). The Cockpit received scratch built engine controls and other missing items on the overhead panel as they are not present in the kit. Also the cockpit hatches have scratch built handles.
The starboard side rear window was filled in, it’s not present on the real aircraft. I did not add the missing window on the port side though. I added various antenna and the test probe on the d side. The wheels are from Reskit and are necessary as the kit wheels are terrible.
I added Matters of Scale’s R1820s for more detailed engines, the kit engines dont fit well inside the nacelles. I added the ladder in the rear which is a modified F-15 ladder.
The decals are a mix of Caracal, Fundekals, PAXCON and Custom designed/printed ones. The base is from USA Dioramas with a couple of RESKIT figures.
